The rise of health data and the use of technologies to both treat and prevent different health conditions have opened many gateways. In particular, new digital methods present opportunities to improve diagnosis, treatment and management of mental health problems. From artificial intelligence via computerised therapies to applications on mobile phones – the potential of digital solutions, especially for young people is vast.
Donovan Müller, a recent high-school graduate and Foraus blog contributor (read his recent publications here), supported Fondation Botnar during our session at AI for Good Global Summit on 8 September 2020, capturing key discussions around this critical topic. COVID-19 has brought to light some of the challenges our rapidly growing cities face, as urban areas have suffered most as a result of the pandemic. The pandemic has led to an urgent need to rethink how our cities are created, and a critical part of that means involving citizen voices, including those of young people.
Fondation Botnar is committing CHF 20 million to international research efforts to advance the scientific understanding of, and accelerate the global health response to, COVID-19, including the role of digital technologies.
Young Experts: Tech 4 Health (YE:T4H) is a platform for young people to shape and guide the agenda towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030 through data and digital technologies.
Fondation Botnar is maintaining its commitment to championing meaningful participation for young people to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through supporting a Global Youth Council along with coalition members.
