He later went on to found btov Partners AG, a European venture capital firm focusing on early stage investments in digital and industrial technology companies. He has since spent the last two decades shaping btov Partners AG’s now expansive network of private investors and investment businesses where he is one of the Partners in the company’s Digital Tech Fund. From 2007 to 2015, Mr. Schweitzer has served on the Board of the Swiss Private Equity & Corporate Finance Association (SECA), Chapter Seed Money & Venture Capital. He is also a Member of Advisory Board of DeepL GmbH, SevenSenders GmbH and the Social Fashion Company GmbH. Past Board commitments include Data Artisans GmbH and SumUp Payments Limited.
Mr. Schweitzer’s efforts have been recognised by Digitalswitzerland, who nominated Mr. Schweitzer as one of 100 Digital Shapers of 2017 and 2018 in the ‘Financers’ category.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Florian Schweitzer, an expert in developing businesses in the startup ecosystem to the Board.” says Dr. Peter Lenz, President of the Fondation Botnar Board. “Mr. Schweitzer’s experience with almost 20 years in digital technology investments, will be fundamental in guiding the foundation’s entrepreneurship strategy and investments in emerging innovations to harness early-stage solutions that will benefit children and adolescents around the world.”
“It is with great pleasure that I join Fondation Botnar’s Board, to align its digital-focused investment strategy with global health targets, to specifically impact the health and wellbeing of children and young people in urban contexts,” said Mr. Schweitzer. “We are already witnessing large scale disruption of digital innovations in the health sector that hold tremendous potential to improve access, quality, and the efficiency of healthcare delivery. From mobile e-doctors delivering instant consultations, to wearable technologies that advance disease management, I’m looking forward to working with Fondation Botnar to both identify and harness the latest developments to tackle the world’s largest population health challenges”.
